I was born on a U.S. military base in the Philippines and grew up in Illinois. In 1996, my husband and I bought our first home in a new development, allowing us to select the options we wanted. Five years later, we sold that home and purchased an 80-year-old home with avocado green appliances, psychedelic wallpaper, shag carpeting, you name it! As soon as we arrived home from closing, we immediately started ripping off the wallpaper and before long we tore down all the walls and ceiling! We completely gutted the home, replacing 43 windows, new siding, new electric, new plumbing, etc. In 2005 my husband was offered a position with a company on the East Coast, so we packed up our two kids and two dogs and headed East. We absolutely loved living in New England, but when our 3rd child was born with medical issues, we knew we wanted to be closer to our family in IL. In 2012, we relocated to MN and have been here ever since. We absolutely love everything about MN. We embrace the wicked cold weather by learning how to ice fish, and in the Spring, we treat ourselves to a family vacation in the Caribbean.
My dream job would be… A carpenter!
My first job was… at McDonalds when I was 16
When I’m not working, you’ll find me… Dining out with my husband and friends, hanging out with my kids or chilling out with my 2 dogs.
The best “unknown” restaurant I’ve been to is… Porterhouse Steak & Seafood Grill in Little Canada. I’m not a big steak eater, so this if I say it’s good… it’s REALLY good!
My favorite food is… I don’t have a favorite because I enjoy everything!
Favorite vacation spot… Dominican Republic
